Hello! Communication and Social Media Manager Sunshine Woodyard moved to Orlando 14 years ago for the theme parks and the weather. Since then she's found many more reasons to love The City Beautiful!
My definition of One Perfect Day in my hometown is an aerial yoga class at Elevate Yoga Center, followed by a bike ride from my house to Winter Park for a visit to the farmer's market. Float around in my pool for a couple of hours and then get dressed up and go out with friends for dinner and a show at the Dr. Phillips Center.
I chose to make Orlando my home in 2003 because I lived in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and my kids were 3 and 5 years old. We kept visiting Orlando on vacation, and loved the weather and theme parks, so when we found out how much cheaper housing was, it was a no-brainer!
I'm passionate about the energetic, positive, loving, creative and artistic people in my hometown. Good people choose to live here, for good reasons!
People would be surprised to know about Orlando's vibrant arts community- we have amazing muralists, photographers, burlesque dancers, actors, painters, and more, and they are all very accessible with lots of openings and shows happening every week.
In my opinion, a brisket sandwich from 4 Rivers is the signature food item that visitors must sample in Orlando.
