Give Back

One of Hello!’s partners, the historic Wigwam Resort, recently invited the Hello! Arizona team to participate in a volunteer event for the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) organization. According to UNICEF, at least 6,200 children die each day from hunger-related causes. Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit that strives to combat this heartbreaking statistic by providing nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.

The Hello! Arizona team jumped at the opportunity to donate to the cause as well as hand-pack meals that would be shipped to FMSC food partners around the world. At the completion of the two-and-a-half-hour event, Hello! Arizona and the Wigwam Resort MobilePack event packed over 50,000 meals and raised over $11,000!

Janine Skinner, Development Advisor for FMSC, said, "Thank you so much for your wonderful donation! Your generosity is literally a lifesaving gift for the kids we are feeding together. To give you some perspective, here is a picture taken during my trip to Haiti to visit one of our mission partners.  I was devastated and heartbroken by the living conditions and poverty I witnessed. It was so much worse than I had imagined."

Janine continued, "But I experienced utter joy as well, when we visited an orphanage while the kids were eating our food. This little girl’s face just says it all, their gratitude for a hot meal and the HOPE it brings defies description. Look at that smile and know that the difference between these two pictures is YOU!"

Heather Husom, General Manager for Hello! Arizona, said, "We were thrilled to receive the invitation to participate in this event. Feed My Starving Children’s mission is one that our team and the entire Hello! organization can certainly get behind, and we thoroughly enjoyed packing these life-saving meals."
